How much does a political campaign video cost?
A political campaign video costs less than people expect when nobody films anything. Here is what it costs to make one, what the price covers, and what you still pay for separately.
A political campaign video at Campaign Cuts costs $49.99 / $69.99 / $99.99 per video, depending on length. Each video is one payment, no subscription, and the price covers writing, editing, captions, music and the Paid for by line. What it does not cover is advertising spend, which you set yourself.
Campaign Cuts prices for 15-, 30- and 60-second videos
The length sets the price. Fifteen seconds is a quick statement: who you are, what you stand for. Thirty seconds is the one most people pick, because it holds one message without rushing. Sixty seconds leaves room for two or three issues.
| Length | One shape | Both shapes | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 15 seconds | $49.99 | $69.98 | Who you are, one issue |
| 30 seconds | $69.99 | $89.98 | A full message, the usual pick |
| 60 seconds | $99.99 | $119.98 | Longer message, two or three issues |
Each video comes in one shape: vertical for Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, or horizontal for YouTube and a website. If you want both shapes of the same video, that is both formats for $19.99 extra per video, so a 30-second video in both shapes costs $89.98. An order can hold one to five videos, and each video gets its own short brief, so you can cover different issues or audiences. Example: three 30-second videos, each in both shapes, costs $269.94.
What is included in the price?
The price covers the whole job, from your notes to the finished file in your inbox.
- I write the video from your notes; no script needed.
- I edit from your own photos and phone clips. Photos alone are enough.
- Captions, music, and the Paid for by line in the committee's exact wording.
- The finished video arrives by email within 48 hours of your order.
- You deal with me directly; I make every video myself.
- No shoot day, no travel; nobody comes to film.
If you want changes, you reply to that email and I revise the video. Revisions are part of the price. If you do not like the videos, I refund you in full.
Editing existing photos versus filming new footage
I work from material your campaign already has: photos from events, phone clips of the candidate talking, notes on the issues. Photos alone are enough. Nobody comes to film. There is no film crew required, no shoot day, no travel. You send files from your phone or camera roll, and I build the video around them. A phone clip of the candidate talking at a kitchen table or a campaign event gives the video a voice of its own. That is why the production cost stays low.
Filmed production costs more because it adds a crew, a shoot day, equipment and travel, plus more editing time after. My price is lower because I edit from material your campaign already has: photos from events, phone clips of the candidate talking. Nothing is shot, so nothing is billed for shooting.
Here is one made from three photos, one 8-second phone clip and five short notes for a fictional city-council candidate.
Video production cost versus advertising spend
The production cost ends when the video is done. Running the video as an ad is a different budget line entirely: that money goes to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or a TV station, and you set the amount. It can be a small amount or a bigger push; the platform bills you, not me.
| Making the video | Running it as an ad | |
|---|---|---|
| What it pays for | Writing, editing, captions, music, disclosure line | Showing the video to voters |
| Who you pay | Me, directly | The platform: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, a TV station |
| How often | Once, per video | Continuously, while the ad runs |
A finished video can also simply be posted on your own pages, emailed to supporters or put on the campaign website without any ad spend. So a campaign can make the video and spend nothing on delivery, or make it and buy reach on top. Either way, advertising spend is separate, and I do not place or manage ads.

Choose a length and orderWhat changes the cost of a campaign video?
Three things move the price. Nothing else does.
Length
A longer video costs more because it takes more of my time to write and edit. Fifteen seconds is $49.99, thirty is $69.99, sixty is $99.99. Pick the length that fits the message you need to send.
Shape
Vertical is for phones; horizontal is for YouTube and a website. Both shapes of the same video cost $19.99 more per video. You choose the shape when you order.
Number of videos
An order can hold one to five videos, each with its own short brief. Two 30-second vertical videos cost $139.98. Each video can cover a different issue or audience.
What does not change the price: how many photos you send, how many revisions you ask for, or whether you later run the video as an ad.
What do you need to send?
You need almost nothing. Here is the order of operations.
- Write a few notes.A sentence or two on what each video should say is enough. I turn those notes into the script, so you never have to write one.
- Send photos and clips.Phone photos of the candidate, short phone clips, anything from events. You can also add files after paying, so do not hold up the order waiting for the perfect photo.
- Choose length and shape. On the order page you pick the number of videos, the length and the shape, and pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
